Today we start our first day of coast to coast travel in the United States in the company of our friends Dolors and Miquel. And our first objective is visit downtown downtown Phoenix.
Very similar to that of other American cities of its size, it has two distinct characteristics: the prevailing dry heat and the absolute tranquility of a center of a large city with almost no passersby.
We walked a few laps, photographing the great skyscrapers, the stadiums, its deserted streets full of offices, a museum or cultural center that was open to the public.
From there we took the car and approached Sun city, a city that was born in 1960 and is almost exclusively dedicated to being a residence for retired people, mostly Americans.

Almost all of one plant are independent of each other, without fences or separation fences, surrounded by grass, palm trees and cacti and with many swimming pools.
In the existing commercial areas, the necessary services for a mostly retired and elderly population. From medical centers and specialized clinics. to travel agencies, restaurants and cafes.
We entered one of these cafe restaurants where, despite our age, we were the youngest, including the waitresses. As a curiosity, the table chairs had a small wheel on each leg to facilitate movement.

After a pleasant meal sitting on high sidewalks next to large casks as a table, we headed to the foundation headquarters of the aforementioned architect.
